How much water should a mini spit out of the radiator on a hot day over the space of 50-100km?

ie drive that far, let it cool down and then top it up?

Mine seems to need about a bit over a litre, it seems too much to me or is this normal?? There is no expansion tank just the radiator.

Any idea guys or do I have a head gasket problem?

I think that a litre sounds like a bit too much. Do you have a temp guage?

If so what does it read on one of these trips?

temp goes up to about a third from the bottom so it appears not too hot.

I just saw that you're from WA, here in toowoomba usually it doesn't go above 35°C.

There's probably nothing wrong with it, the reason it would be doing that is because of the high ambient temperature (I'm guessing????). Is anything else wrong with the car ie. the idle isn't the same as it was etc (usually if there's a BHG the idle will be a bit rough (it will sound good) but will be down on power - and also have mayo looking stuff in the rocker area). Or is everything fine otherwise?

Yeah thats what I thought too, no mayo in the oil or water.....

A little rough when cold but yeah, will have to let it develop.

Maybe a pressure test would be in order.

PS MERRY XMAS EVERYONE!!

My car isn't that nice to deal with when it's cold. I don't reckon you have much to worry about.
