Just tried replacing my speedo cable and it looks like a birds nest

I think the rod has broken off inside the housing, is there any suggestions as to how you could get it out without having to pull the whole engine out!!!!

I think you can remove the whole gear if I remember right. Theres a small 7/16 bolt just underneath it, remove this and the assembly with gear comes out.

Still not so very easy though. It might help if you remove the drive shaft to get access.

I think I might need it (luck that is). I had a hard time getting to it but came off pretty easily.

Looks like a whole bunch of wires at the moment.
