Stripping nearly everything that moves out of the engine bay to paint it and at the same time setting myself up to replace the brake lines. Anyone pulled the rear line out without taking the subframes off? Apart from the fact I don't want to touch the sub frames (let sleeping dogs lie so to speak) is cutting and joining the line the only other option? |

Don't wuss out, David- drop it out. Will give you an excuse to lube up the front mounting bolts so it'll come out again if wanted. ![]() I don't like joining brake lines but I guess you could use a flare socket. |

Come on Doc - I'm 3 times over budget now ![]() It's pretty loose (front one anyway) when I get the bundy tube I'll try and push it through and bend up the tube laying on my back under the car ![]() |

David Once you have the car safely off the ground then its not hard to drop the rear subframe and you dont have to work with your arms up in the in tight spots. Powder coating and PORing is for a later part of the restoration and then you already know the subframe will come out easily. |

I dont know if its easier with a Moke, but I managed to pull out and reinstall all the brake lines with the subframes in. I swore alot but it got done. |
