Can anyone tell me what this part of the heater is:
Image
it has a green wire which was disconnected...can't make out what the sticker said after "AUTO"...

Also found this switch in the RH wheelarch :?

This was also disconnected with a green wire and a red - could this be related?

No I've never seen one of those- is there a fan or anything in it?
The one failing of the `Matic heater... NO FAN!!! :x

Switch in the wheelarch was probably a kill switch.... or alarm switch.

Hmm I guess I'll have to take it off and have a peek - will post pic...

Yeah I thought it might be a kill switch or something but the green wire and proximity to the heater got me thinking

If you want a fan to keep your tootsies warm in traffic next winter, get an Attwood 3" bilge blower from Bias Boating Warehouse.
Around $50.
Put it in the air ducting behind heater.

Wow. To really go out on a limb....

Does it look like that little mechanism inside might be a finely balanced movement? It might be a movement detector for that alarm switch?? (plucking at straws)

It does look like if that little see saw thingy inside moves it might complete a circuit at the end where that green wire comes in....well it's my guess and I'm gonna go with that one.

Otherwise it's prolly a flux capacitor. Can this thing do 80?

It IS a flux capacitor but it is missing the Iridium Crystals

Hard to see...but looks like a bimetal strip...so when you throw the switch it delays switching something else...thats my pluck
