Hi all, Thanks for the info before about the SU carby, adjustments and the fact that it should have oil in it! We found a motorbike shop that sold 10w Fork Oil, and followed instructions to put it in. We tried to adjust it, too, which didn't end up smoothing it out that much, although the end result is smoother than before, for sure. We've got an appointment for her to be checked-out by Brickworkz tomorrow, which should be good, or bad if he tells us she's not worth bothering with. We got 2 new tyres for the front today. The job was good, they didn't use the rattle guns, but Marty had to stand there and baby-sit. ![]() Well, we'll let ya's know what the verdict is from Brickworkz tomorrow. Crossing fingers this isn't a big mistake. ![]() Manda & Marty |

Replying to myself.. is that a sign of madness? Brickworkx went well - great service - we learned a lot, and the mini was running much better, that is, until we replaced a length of fuel line and the fuel filter when we got home. Now it's has no power on acceleration, so we've either knocked something off, like a lead, or the new fuel filter is messing it up. We are sure we got the right size filter and hose (1/4 inch). We'll bypass the fuel filter and see if that helps, and check everything is still where it's suppose to be, too. Pics available as soon as we get internet at home! ![]() Marty & Manda |

Welp, the little mini did us a good one! We swapped to the old fuel filter and fuel lines and it made no difference. Took it back to Steve at Brickworx and he put a little ATF in the dashpot damper and the loss of power cleared right up ![]() Thanks to everyone for the help so far! Marty & Manda |

I topped mine up 8 months ago and has only gone down a little. Must be leaking I'd think. |

Topped it up this morning, and over-filled it, so it runs like a pig again.. *sigh* If it was leaking, where does it leak to?? There's no visual leak marks on the outside of the dashpot.. Thanks for your help, Marty & Manda |

Thanks for your help, Marty & Manda How much did you top it up, it only has a lttle in it, when you push the piston back in it only should feel resistance for the last 20mm or there abouts, please tell me you didn't fill it right up as that would explain why its running like crap ![]() Jon |

It's supposed to be full to top of piston rod- much more, it'll squirt excess out the breather hole. |

Hi all, sorry for the delay in responses, we are still waiting for internet to be hooked up at our unit and are using the free internet at the library. We had topped up the dashpot damper about 12 days ago. Then Steve at Brickworx did a tune up 4 days ago, he must have checked it then but I didn't notice if he did. The following day it was having a loss of power issue so we took it back to Steve and he topped it up and it was running *ok* but still a bit doggy. Then yesterday I checked it again, thought it was low and over filled it to a point where, when putting the piston rod back in, a small amount of fluid spilled out. It was running worse so I took some out, to a level as advised here, and it's running *ok* again but it still having a loss of power issue. I'll check the level again today and leave it be to see how quickly the fluid level goes down. It still isn't as responsive at the pedal as I think it should be. When we were at brickworx a mechanic there said it feels like it has a small 'flat spot' and, at the time, it was only really present when flooring the accelerator. Now it has become more pronounced and some times it bogs badly when just accelerating with light pedal use. Based on the evidence, the carby's dashpot fill-level seems to effect the driving performance dramatically! Thanks for the help so far. Marty & Manda |

Guys was it a full Tune up or did Steve just do a quick fix to get you going, if the car has not had a full tune up get it done, if it was a full tune only a week or so ago take it back and get them to check it as maybe some part that was fitted was faulty, it does happen and I am sure Steve will fix it either way ![]() Jon |

I believe it was a full tune up. It included a tappet adjustment, new plugs, new points and condenser, new vacuum advance, carb and timing adjustment. I don't remember anything else being done. |

Just take it back if you feel its not going right, that is a full tune nd it should last longer than 4 days and I bet Steve will fix it quick amd easy, he likes happy customers so they come back next time the car needs work Jon |
