Post subject: | Front hub bearing seals |
My book(s) say to fit the bearing seals "with the lip facing towards the bearing" ![]() Looking at the seal, there is a groove on one side, with a spring type retaining ring in it. Does this side face the bearing? That is my interpretation of the above quote from the book. |

Make sure you lubricate the seal running surface with a bit of oil or gresse so the seal does not get damaged. |

just did my bearings yesterday, yes spring towards the inside, car rolls nice and quite now ![]() |

LMFAO. Yeah, fill the seal with grease as well. Obviously only pack your wheel bearings as required, but if there's any other room, I reckon fill it with grease. Less space for crud to get in then. |
