MAte you can use just about any 20W/50 mineral based oil, synthetics are a big no no, hope that helps Jon |

Bulla has posted in the TME section about matics so I suspect it may be for an auto mini , can you please give us some more info of what you're after Bulla ? |

Love the "replace oil every 60 days" sticker in that The Mini Experience magazine article. BMC followed the Docs advice even way back then ![]() |

20w50 is best IMO with very frequent changes (incl filter) and definitely no synthetics. |

PM sent to bulla. Book says 10W30, 10W/40 or 20W/50. 1st two are a bit thin for hot climates. Any 20W/50 is OK in the Land of Oz (particularly if it ain't a new box), provided it is NOT friction modified. eg Valvoline SF 20W/50, Castrol GTX, Havoline 20W/50, etc. The weakest part of this old autobox is the forward clutch, if you want it to last as long as possible, change oil and filter regularly. Like, every 1000-1500 miles. ![]() The drivers handbook states 3000 miles (as for manuals) but for a `matic, that is too far. It also says 3000 miles for the `matic's filter- that is probably OK if you change oil at 1500 (it's a big filter). ![]() |
