its ur car. do it if u want. dont worry about what everyone else says. if u sell it later and someone REALLY wants it to look original with the normal size wheels they can weld some more panel on. |

I voted no , not because it's a 1275LS but because I think they look wrong on any mini really .... |

I'm with Sports850, also I don't like to see any mini's outside shells cut. But I'm not saying don't do it, as it's your car. Do whatever you want, but I wouldn't do it. |

I thought I had pics but they have dissapeared. I say cut the rims 1" back to 13x6" that way you don't have to cut anything. And they fit under most flaires. Same tyres fit plus there will be less wheel brearing changes as the 13x7" like to eat bearings due to the extra offset outwards. |

Don't forget the extra strain put on your bearings and steering gear trying to turn those suckers , can shorten the life of a lot of components , especially considering most of the super low profile 13" tyres are very sticky . |

A mini with 13x5.5's shouldnt need the guards cut AS LONG as the car is not lowered. Lowering the car will reduce the tyre-to-outer-guard clearance. A mini with 13x6's WILL need the front guards cut by about 1 inch on the front half of the arch only. A mini with 13x7's will need the same (1 inch) if you keep the car at standard height, or up to 2 inches if the car is lowered. Cutting the guard 2 inches will require having the front arches mounted on an angle. This can not be done with sportspack arches due to the arch being moulded around the bumper bar. |
