Rather than point the finger at any one mechanic or workshop let me just say that if you go to a known mini specialist then you are dealing with someone who knows minis and will do the job in the most economic fashion.

If you go to a mechanic purely on location (even one who claims to specialise in classic cars) then you are paying for them to learn how to do the job.

If the car is not mobile then either a trailer or a tilt tray tow truck are good value for what the do and the charge.

The moral is - deal with a mini mechanic of a known quality. Its not right for any of us to specifically promote any one business but if you ask us if a particular mechanic is any good then we will tell you.

many mechanics who have been in the business for less than 20 years will probably never have worked on a mini or it was a long time ago and a million cars ago.

hi,

So which one? Greig, or centrone, or even james at Minis of Sydney?

I saw Greig already - even his gf (remember the green matic in MINI EXPERIENCE, it's hers)

What range of work does james or centrone do? Only mechanical stuffs?

Where is the address and contact for James @ Balmain?

Thanks heaps.
