| Post subject: | Interior light fuse location??? |
Probably a basic question, but I'm dumbfounded. Where is the fuse for the interior light in my 1977 clubby??? Intalling a new interior light and made sure it was working before screwing it into place and now it doesnt work... Also now there is no current flowing through the wires to the light.... Help please. |

The fuse is simply one of the two standard mini fuses. There's no seperate fuse for the interior light. hey are on the drivers side of the engine bay up the back. Try wiggling the door switches in the door jam. When the doors are open it completes the circuit to ground, sometimes they don't make such a great contact but get better in use. Is there 12 volts to the light? If not, trace the wire back to the fuse holder and try cleaning the connection up. Although I doubt it in this case, you could also check the connection at the plug where the front loom connects to the rear loom. This is above the wiper motor under the front window. If there is 12 volts, then it is the wire to the door switches, or the switches themselves. Usually it will be the contacts in the light that will be the problem, sand lightly with some wet and dry to get another 10 years of use out of them., |

Well the roundnose's only have 2 fuses on the rhs inner gaurd near the firewall. Dunno bout clubmans, so do u have a multimeter or at least test lamp? To confirm if u have 12v there or not. U mite find that u do have 12v but an open circut gnd? |

Thanks guys, but I just got it workin. The wires coming from the fuse box must have been a little bit loose and a good wriggle got it workin. |

far as i know there are only 2 fuses, on mudguard in engine bay with little plastic black cover that pulls of. check it out! |

Give the fuse box and fuses a clean up with some emery paper before it leaves you stranded. |

Just a side point , in clubmans there is a third fuse (well , it was in my 76 clubby anyway and I've seen a few others ) , an inline one in the dash lights/park lights circuits , it's normally up under the scuttle behind the air cleaner adn can be an absolute bitch to find when you can't get the lights to work ..... |
