ok itaped up my doors a while ago with masking tape the chrome around the outside of the door...now the stupid stuff is proving hard to getoff and metho doesnt help much either..........any help will be appreciated

Turps will dissolve the glue a lot better than metho.

Nope, not unless it is wet. Takes bugs off quite nicely too, and remove contact cement

If that fails you can get adhesive plaster remover, designed to get the sticky stuff left when you take sticking plaster off your skin. Works great for all sorts of sticky labels. You can get it at chemists.

3M make an aerosol adhesive remover which works really well to. But yeah just get some K&H wax n grease remover. (much cheaper)

Bout $12-$15 per roll. I got mine from bunnings, otherwise a paint shop will stock it. Its very low tack. It comes off without leaving a mark

Even if you do this, it comes off cleanly:

Nah i bought my ute from the Gold Coast and drove it 2000klm home to Cairns. I didnt feel like getting stone chips and bugs splattered over the front of the car. This did a really great job!!!! Cost me $24 compared to $300 for a Car Bra.
