you can use just about any 20W/50 mineral based oil, synthetics are a big no no, hope that helps

Bulla has posted in the TME section about matics so I suspect it may be for an auto mini , can you please give us some more info of what you're after Bulla ?

Love the "replace oil every 60 days" sticker in that The Mini Experience magazine article. BMC followed the Docs advice even way back then

20w50 is best IMO with very frequent changes (incl filter) and definitely no synthetics.

PM sent to bulla.
Book says 10W30, 10W/40 or 20W/50.
1st two are a bit thin for hot climates.
Any 20W/50 is OK in the Land of Oz (particularly if it ain't a new box), provided it is NOT friction modified.
eg Valvoline SF 20W/50, Castrol GTX, Havoline 20W/50, etc.

The weakest part of this old autobox is the forward clutch, if you want it to last as long as possible, change oil and filter regularly. Like, every 1000-1500 miles.
The drivers handbook states 3000 miles (as for manuals) but for a `matic, that is too far.
It also says 3000 miles for the `matic's filter- that is probably OK if you change oil at 1500 (it's a big filter).
