Well, after my initial two coats for autothane factory black 2pac paint on my subframes, I realised I missed patches (yes, even after the second coat!).

So, what do I do, I've gone and scotch brighted the paint (been roughly a week, and the paint only takes 40hours @ 25*C to cure) then wax/grease cleaned, mixed my paint and sprayed again...

.. And I've still missed some!!!!!!
To make matters worse, I forgot to put on gloves this time, got paint and crap everywhere while cleaning, and because my landlord complained about the mini all packed up nice and neat and covered on a rotisery staying out over night, I moved 1 of the subframe to put the mini back in the garage, and the paint was still way to wet.

And, to top it all off, I think I had the paint too thin, because this time I have runs!

So glad its only the subframes! (although I think panels will be so much easier, bigger plain areas!)

/end rant

The painter missed a few spots (or had a few thin spots) of paint when my frames were done, I simply got the old chassis black spray can out and did it that way.
Looks like it was done right first go, and seems to hold up just as well.
:D

its just so annoying though, and there are parts of primer visible, primer is porous, meaning it will rust.

Garage, with only one big fluro tube, the doors were all open (garage doors) but its still hard to see, mainly in the confined areas, plus the paint is black and with a slight mist already on the primer its hard to pick up until you really go over the whole lot.

Any day its warm and clear, high teens to mid 20 temps and avoid heavy humidity and they end up like this

Do I need to tell the painters who will do my car up about that? or the facilities equipped in there are adjusted to the ideal conditions for spray painting anyway?

Thx,
ben

Mate they will or should have a booth that will take control of all this, so it does not matter to them what day or temp they choose
