Good move mate. Going through a pro is definatly a good way to go. Its the only way to get a proper job. It may cost up to 8 grand but it will be 8 grand well spent.

yep, if you r looking for some good things; good craftmanship, etc, you gottta pay for it, simple! and your right, no sloppy stuffs on it and I think things should be done professionally, especially for the paint job. It's a mini and it's the looks which counts! I am keeping it for a long-term and won't sell it no matter what - only going broke I will.

Except getting the paint done, sometimes just dunno where to start on this damn little thing since I am just a beginniner. I wish I could met some mini mates around my area so we can get together to fix up stuffs and share some mini experience. That would be heaps good!

Post subject:  panel beater

Hi Ben,

My dad had some work done on his car when some guy reversed into the front of his car. Did a brilliant job, he also did the respray / panel beating for ryans car. Both could probably vouch for his attention to detail.

This is in Wollongong, about 1:30 south of Sydney.
Ryan's username is "ryan" so PM him if your interested...

Ben, many people on here would be very happy to have your paint job on their car.

Why don't you find another mini that actually NEEDS a new paint job and spend the big bucks on that? You'll do us all a favour by saving one more mini that was destined to go on the scrap heap and it wont cost you any more than respraying the one you got.

Alternatively since i think you are destined for heartache with such a car, go out and buy the newest mini you can find. there was a 1999 rover mini auto for sale here for $19000. That would be much more up your alley rather than making a million posts about how stuffed up your car is when it really isn't.

I am not just asking that for myself but for someone who also has a mini and seriously need a paint job since it's rusting. About the big bucks spend, man...I mean if I got someone to help me out just like Brad did to you...thats' would be heaps good.

ok, Have you look at it "carefuly"? If not, my best suggestion is to do it before making comments about its quality. No matter what, I believe spraypainters' judgement can't be any wrong though.

I admitted I should know a bit more before I get an old Mini because I can then tell what's actually good and what's not and filtered out the ones I wouldn't want. All I was thinking at that time was to get a mini with a NEW good paint job on it so I don't have to worry about the paint and then I can work on other things, but it didn't turn out to be the case.

Rather then giving something up because it is not good is not what I usually do. Instead, I will not let go easily and try my best to overcome and to win it. Challenges are part of life, if you lose at the end, no one is gonna blame since you have tried....

Back to that, I mean it is not to the extreme where it needs a paint job immediately, BUT sooonn and EVENTUALLY it 100% will need one, maybe 1-2years ..?..if you store it in extreme care and not exposing it to the moisture.

Paints are peeling off inside and it needs to be done, afterall most of the interior hasn't been painted. Bogs oustside makes the paint cracking at the front. So at the end you will need it - A stitch now can save 5 in the future!

Well, forget about getting another old car, 1 Mini is enough for me to enjoy/suffer and I dun have the space to store 3 cars as I already have 2 at the moment and only 1 car space and limited off-street parking. Also forgot about getting a new Mini, new Evo or a new unit sounds better to me.

If you like the paint job on my car so much, go for it, I can swop with ur Toyota Mini, but I might not want the paint on it

Alternatively, you can buy it how does that sound?
