Karcraft had none 3 weeks ago and didn't know when they could get more.
It's an A+ 1275 motor- not much different to a late 1275 Moke, the gearbox is a rod change, with the later funny (not) Verto clutch setup.
Not too hard to fit really- need Mini mounts etc. Personally I'd deep six the Verto clutch & flywheel though, and fit a real Mini one..

Went to MIni Mac a couple of weeks ago to get a fly wheel puller. I decided since I borrow his so often, I may as well buy one. Got a Sykes Pickavant one for just $55 - very nice! It came with two sets of bolts to screw into the flywheel - one thread for Verto, one for pre-verto.

We got talking about Verto clutches and Max told me that he had only changed one yet. Apparently a clutch plate is very expensive for Verto - $400 or so!!! :( At that price I would chuck it out and use the old type one too!

The other problem with Vertos apparently is getting the suckers off. I have heard horror stories (in UK) of the big red oxy cutter sometimes being needed...

<edit> and they are heaps heavier than the standard setup. Another reason to bin them.. :P
