My damn blinker arm suddenly stopped staying on when indicating a right turn, I have to hold it down for the indicator to work and as soon as I release it the blinker stops. Is it just an adjustment or do I need a new unit ![]() |

![]() From what I can see, the mechanical component that holds the indicator left or right is simply a plastic catch. When you move the indicator arm, the plastic catch holds it in place, until it cancels out or you manually move it back to centre. This also applies for your high beam. If the plastic catch is worn or broken, it won't hold where you want it to be. So I would say yours has broken. They are a non serviceable item so it's time for a new one ![]() |

MkI and maybe MkII Ford Escort and Capri have the same blinker arm. ![]() Try your local wreckers or pick a part. |

Gotta love mini's, just went on a short trip and the blinker arm worked perfectly, I'm thinking it must be something to do with the auto cut off. |

there is a metal lug on your column that returns your indicator arm to the off position. As the column spins, the lug pushes the mechanism and it should click back to off. Pretty basic stuff. |

I had a similar problem with my Gemini after a smashed windscreen. Turned out that a little sliver of glass was floating around in the steering column and intermittently jamming the blinker switch. |
