Can I apply it over primer or has it got to be bare metal? What happens after the application? Just a normal sprayed primer coat?

As per thier fact sheet.
CAN I APPLY POR15 OVER OTHER PAINTS.
Yes but you will lose the important benifits. You must rember that ordinary paints are weaker by exposure to moisture. POR15 can not stop rust if it isn't direct contact with the base metal

will you put a top coat on? it says it needs it if exposed to sunlight. not that a subframe is really exposed to (direct)sunlight. what topcoat would be used?

Has anyone used or considered electronic rust prevention after a full back to metal restore?
I assume they do work, the old mans AUII came with one.

Not used one but A Grade Panels here in Melbourne are an agent for one of those companies. I do know someone who has installed one on their Cooper S. Didn't do a bare metal re-spray though.

You can look at details I think at http://www.agradepanels.com.au

what about cathodic protection? hmmm

galvanising? bolting a hunk of zinc in a atrategic spot as a sacrificial anode?

just ideas that work in other applications (including Mokes:!:)

my old chem teacher said all you need to do is make up a small box and attach it to the chassis, fill it with cotton wool soaked in salt water and place some magnesium or i guess zinc(easier to get i think) in there and seal it up. Just replace it about every 10 yrs. Magnesium will corrode instead of your mini
