| Post subject: | How much for a mark 2 Cooper S? |
What is a realistic price to pay for a Mark2 Cooper S? If the body needs the usual rust repairs then respray and reassembling using all the original parts that were on the car. Most parts are in good condition however some will be needed to refreshed. The is unreg and complete however dismantled. Any idea on what to pay. Thanks |

Point 1. A piece of string is twice the legnth from the centre to one end....  (some people will get that joke)
Point 2. I looked at a Mk 2 'S' in need of full resto, complete but partly dismantled. It was selling for $5000 and lasted about 3 days before it went. Hope that helps. |

expect anywhere from $5k to $10k ($5k is v.cheap no wonder it sold quick) make sure its genuine and original (eg not deseamed or flipfronted) before paying top dollar... but even a replica with all the proper bits can be worth decent money since some of the unique S parts (motor, 7.5" discs, rh tank, heater, twin carbs with the air-filter box etc) are worth big bucks these days on their own. I was going to make my deluxe into a replica S but I worked out it was going to cost more to restore the deluxe and buy the bits i needed than to just buy a proper s already done (though i did get a fairly good deal on it). the front half of the deluxe was sold on saturday to someone who is planning to use it as a garden ornament  thats not how i though it would end up
