What maintainance do you do to keep your mini reliable and problem free.

well u need to cheek, oil, water every day before u drive out of the drive way, give it a service every few thousand k's.. eg: change oil, oil filtter, air filtter, fuel filtter, top dash pot up. new set of plugs and leads, new dizzy cap, condensor and points, check timing... check for oil leaks........ may sound like a lot to do but it takes about 20 min to do the lot.... i like to check the oil and water everyday before i go anywere..

Service Every 5000Km or 3 Months

Safety
Check fluid reservoirs - brake, clutch, battery, washer
Check hydrolic lines and unions for chafing, leaks, corrosion
Check and adjust foot brake, hand brake
Check condition steering and joints
Check suspension dampers and steering rack for leaks
Check/adjust tyre pressures - include spare
Check tighness road wheel nuts
Check tyres - tread depth, wear, lumps or bulges
Check function of all lights, horn, warning indicators
Check function wipers, washer
Check function instrumentation
Check/renew wiper blades
Check/adjust headlamp alignment
check condition and security seats, seat belts

Lubrication
Grease Points
Lub handbrake linkage & cable guides
Check Engine Oil

Engine
Check & topup Cooling system
Check all drive belts - adjust or renew
Check Exhaust for leaks and security

And to save yourself time when serviceing the Mini you buy a Modified Pulsar Electronic Distributor off me and fit it so you do not have to change points any more. That is half an hour of maintenance cut down ! :D
