Post subject: | Cleaning up and rebuilding SU carby |
I have obtained an HIF44, and it could use a bit of a cleanup. Just wondering what the best way is to clean the thing up? Coat in degreaser/WD40 and use the air compressor and rag? Bathe in diesel? Bead blast? I'm also wondering how hard it would be to rebuild it myself, having no knowledge of how these contraptions work and not having worked on a carby before? I'm always keen to learn but there are bound to be some lines it's best I don't cross. ![]() |

Carby cleaner makes them look real purdy. Watch what you spray it on, it'll strip decals off. |

Yep, smells great too. Do two jobs at once; clean up your carbie and get high/kill some brain cells. |
