is that with the choke out?

using the choke makes it run rich, which makes soot, which comes out the exhaust...

either that or your muffler is stuffed, and burning up on the inside and condensation is coming out and bringing the soot with it, but it's too hot for that

If your engine is running rich-ist all the time then the muffler and exhaust becomes loaded with carbon. When you start it cold this carbon mixes with the condensed water vapour (produced during combustion) and is sprayed out of the exhaust.

Once the exhaust is warm enough the water vapour remains as steam and it doesn't pick up the carbon.

The only way to stop it is to get the engine tuned/serviced and de-carbon the zoorst.

hmmm. well the car has been tuned and it runs great. after i tuned it i went and gave it a bit of a thrashing then quickly pulled off the the side of the road and turned the car off and i checked the plugs and they were perfect, nice colour, not to much soot.. when i start it in the morning i pull the choke out and it starts first go everytime, and as soon as it runs i turn the choke off, and i let it warm up..... maybe it is nothing to worry about... the car goes great...... the muffler is brand new i got a full 1.75'' system with a straight threw muffler, so there nothing wrong with the exhaust...

it's not serious is it?
