We pulled the 1100 out of the traveler today. A bastard of a job as luck would have it the lower arms on the engine crane were exactly the same width as the track of the mini. Impossible to get the hook over the center of the engine so it wanted to tilt sideways then later after much swearing realised I forgot to remove the earth strap from the engine & of coase the speedo cable. We got it out after a good while. Much more planning will have to go into putting it back in. THough it won't be any time soon the engine bay need LOTS of TLC first

Just pulled the engine out of my clubby (and put it back with not too much trubble :? ) I came in with my crane on an angle and the engine came up ok. In fact easiest I have ever done it cause I've never used a proper crane before. Did you pull out the frame that the grille is attached to? I did, it makes it much easier. I had the nuts tack welded to the engine mounts. Not sure this is the best way to go as locating the bolts was a bit of a fiddle. In the past have had a length of thick wire brazed to the bolt so it can stil be put in from the top. Think this may be easier way to go. Good Luck.
