Post subject:  weber fitting

Hey all.
I'm fitting a weber that i have in the shed to Lil. The weber came out of a van that i bought a while ago.
I have a questin about making it fit between the head and the fire wall. When i took it out of the van, It had a ramflo oval/dome style filter on it. Witch (if i remember corectly) fited in. But when i look at the fire wall in the van there is a mod in the fire wall. Just a small cut and elongation at the bottom righ of the access hole for the speedo . Only a slight mod but one that i would like to avoid if possible.
Is there anyone that knows of a company that manufactures something like a 90 degree air filter manifold, or an air box that sits in on the crossmember or even ome sort of side exit manifold.

Here is a pic of the fire wall

Here is one of the carbie in. Unfortunatly i dont have a closer one

Any help would be apretiated.
Thanks all

If you get a Redline 3005 manifold it will just fit in (with Ramflo filter)without cutting a hole.
Here's a pic of mine-

Yes they work OK on a 998 or 1100, too restrictive for a 1275 though. I had one.....
for a Redline 3005, see http://www.redlineauto.com.au/

Any one know anything about this manifold?
IE: will / Wont wit a wbere behind the fire wall?
The only id numbers on it are the C/T you see on the top and A011 down one of the inlets. I would say that it is 95mm or 1 3/4 in length from face to face

It's a UK or US made one, pics are in Des Hammill's 998 and 1275 books- "Howe to power tune the BMC/BL/Rover A series engine "
They need porting out to flow properly, he says.

But I think it would fit.

All bow to thee, Drmini.
It must be near on imposible to get to sleep with all that mini knowlage rolling around in your head
I'll get back out in the shed and give it a little amature port work and a clean up. Shouldn't be to crutial its only going on a 998 with an 1100 crank, but there is an awfull lot of casting crap on the inside.
Thanks again drmini.
ill get the fella thats fitting the carb and dynoing the car to try that one out. If its not usable ill just have to bite the bullet and get a redline one shipped out for next day delivery.
