Been a sad day in Gulgong today and no doubt it will be on the evening news services. The headlines shout "Valentines Day love triangle Killing" etc etc.
This is of particular interest to MCC members because the people implicated are alledged to be Tony and Kathy Riley who are the owners of Gulgong (and Mudgee) Century 21 Real Estate offices.

I dont know all the details. But, for some time the town has known about an affair between Kathy Riley and another man. Apparently Tony Riley found out about this and confronted the pair some 18 months ago. An agreement was reached and Tony believed the affair had ended.

Today, Tony learnt the affair was still ongoing and at 7.00 am he (it is alledged) confronted the lover pair and shot dead the male. Tony then left the scene and a major search began for his whereabouts.

Early this afternoon a SWAT team swooped in the Mudgee office of Century 21 where they found a man with serious gunshot wounds to the head. He was taken taken to Mudgee Hospital and although his identity has not been revealed it is belived to be Tony Riley.

Now, Tony has been active in motorsport for many years. He is an active rally driver and has sponsored the Mini Car Club, on several occasions when the club has visited Gulgong, providing prizes and other subsidies for a show and shine. Tony was also president of the Chamber of Commerce and a strong supporter of all things Mudgee/Gulgong.
