Post subject: | What's my diff ratio? |
I have used the search function but can't really find my answer. I am just wanting confirmation of the diff ratio in my car (without pulling it all apart!). I have a '67 Deluxe with a remote change. So far I have been under the belief that it would be the same as a Mini K (3.65) but I would just like to know for sure. The reason I'm asking is because: I want to know how hard I'm revving it (as it didn't come with a tacho - and I don't really want to spoil the look of the interior by getting one) so if someone who has a standard gearbox/diff could possibly tell me at what speeds in what gear is the redline? Thanks |

Diff ratio for a Deluxe should be a 3.76:1. |

Thanks guys. Do you know what kind of speeds you should be doing at about 6000/6500rpm though (in 1st, 2nd and 3rd)? |

The 3.76:1 will give you about 23.7kph per 1000rpm in top gear. The gear ratios are 1st = 3.628 2nd = 2.172 3rd = 1.412 4th = 1.0 So 1st = 6.532kph per 1000rpm (6000 = 39.1kph) 2nd = 10.91kph per 1000rpm (6000rpm = 65.4kph) 3rd = 16.78kph per 1000rpm (6000rpm = 100.68kph) 4th = 23.7kph per 1000rpm (6000rpm = 142kph) Download gearcalc It will work it out better than I have just done. (I don't have it on this computer) |

Thanks Morris1100, that is exactly what I was after! At least I know how hard I'm revving it now. |
