Post subject: | Removing Dashboard |
Hi there everyone, My two mini manuals don't give me much of a clue in regards to removing a mini clubman dashboard - ie all sections as my mini is going in for a full strip and repaint. For the top section I have removed the two side nuts (ie one on each of the ends) but the dash still seems quite firm. I take it that there may be others maybe in the middle but have yet to find. I just read somewhere about removing the ash tray and finding a nut in there - is that correct? Any help much appreciated! ![]() |

the windscreen needs to come out mate. and there are 4 or five nuts for memotry. the ones on the sides and then some in the middle section - not really the middle as such but towards there. The bottom one has a chrome strip and some clips under that. but is [redominatly held on with glue. so u just have to be careful when taking it offskies. cheers chris |

Yep - all glass is already out of car. Will have to have a closer look and feel around from below. Probably obvious but missed them somehow. Cheers. Birty |

Thanks all - yep, there were four nuts to undo with two offset from the centre. I would think that you could get the dashboard off without the windscreen but without a windscreen it sure would be easier to remove the console etc. Must have had a previous windscreen in in the past as I found lots a glass shards sitting underneath the top dash. |

It is possible to get the top dash rail out with the windscreen still in. When you put it (or a nice new one ) back in though, you have to be very careful not to tear the roof lining down the A pillar. Would certainly be easier to do without a windscreen to hinder your progress though ![]() Hooroo |

He he - I have no roof lining either ![]() ![]() Can you still get new dashboards? Now there is a thought - or just put some elbow grease in and clean up the original (more practical) Actually the bottom rail section of the dash looks a bit well used. Cheers everyone! |
