I picked up an LS 998 parts car, the engine is siezed but the head appears to be in good order, so I was thinking of just cleaning it up, maybe a bit of a port etc and run that untill the mini is fully on the road (read: bank loan + elder 8port + turbo + megasquirt injection)

So as a temporary head, are they ok to work? I know its no 202 or 295, but?? Can I just block off the epa ports?

Yes you can. Block off the port and it's no different to any other head

You can port it out just like any other Mini head.
I start with a 27mm (1-1/16") drill down the inlet ports...

hmm, might not even bother now, turns out I've got a 1/2 stripped 202 sitting around, does it share the same valve sizes?

exhaust yes, but the 202 inlet is 1.156" instead of 1.090".
