Hi, can anyone suggest a needle for the following engine specs:

newish
1132cc
mild cam grind
head ported and skimmed just a little
1.5SU
for daily moke

currently running a floating needle (not what i want)
fuel economy isnt very economic too :!:

e3 fixed needle is what i run mine needs it so it can run bit richer for some reason

see if u can catch someone with vizards book has all the specs n needle codes in there 8)

helped in choosing my setup :D

OK, the swinging needle you have has probably worn the jet, hence :cry: fuel consumption. recommend you get the CZ fixed needle & conversion bush, (about $20) and replace the jet. The spring loaded needle (ABP?) - chuck it severely.

This should restore fuel consumption to reasonable level, however to get optimum consumption & performance you should consider dyno tune. As usual, it all comes down to how much you want to pay :wink:

As for fuel consumption generally, Clarkson's stint in the Bugatti Veyron l(Top Gear last nite) puts it into perspective!
