Post subject: | mini colour charts? searching for dream blue, help please |
Hi everyone! We have just bought another mini, and the plate states the original colour is "dream blue". Trying to trace this - when I bought my minimatic mark 2 (Misty Green) we were able to find a link to a colour chart which displayed many of the Morris colours, in Ausmini, but now I can't seem to re find it. Can anyone help me find this colour link?? Many thanks. |

It's a '65 colour 8444 for Morris 1100s at least. This doesn't mean that it was not used before this date on other cars. For example, Shadow blue is avilable here in 1966, but it was a standard colour available for 63 minis. http://www.elevenhundred.com/colours.php |

Wow , that was quick! - thankyou so much!! I'm trying to convince my husband to paint it pink with flowers, but he's keen on creating a sleeper in the original colour.....(ok, so if he picks the engine, can I pick the colour ??) BTW, this is the newest member of the family, being - 1964 850 - stock original, matching numbers, pride and joy ; 1970 mini matic, in bits'n'pieces future hopefull, and 1999 Subaru Forester - If you cant drive a mini, drive a Subaru!!! (going OVER the kerbs beats going AROUND them. ) |

I love that 1100 site. It's all cool retro stuff without any of the performance enhancements that always seem to go with mini sites. Seems to be more reminiscent of the motoring style of the time. |
