Hopefully, Tony Davis, author of "Lemons -60 heroic failures of motoring"- (Bantam Books 2004) will read this and eat his words "the Moke never achieved a Citroen 2CV style cult following" What a wally.................... :D

haha yea i love these quotes:

Quote:
BMC in Britain commissioned a vehicle light enough to be carried by its occupants across difficult terrain.

Quote:
Safety requirements implemented during the 1970s forced Leyland to install proper front seats with head restraints, while some of the more homicidal dash protrusions were redesigned or removed.

Quote:
Handling is Mini in the extreme. Cars fitted with off-road pattern tyres understeer ferociously when pushed, yet will snap sideways with equal violence if you panic and back off mid-way through a bend. Such characteristics can be used to advantage by experienced Mokers and these cars have been a favourite with motorkhana competitors almost since their introduction.

I wish the Redbook people would read that so they can put some realistic values on a road going Moke

But then stamp duty will go up when registering a fully resored moke.

I was asking at vicroads the other day about processes to register a moke which has not had rego for however many years. I was told they use the rebook values, and for me to nominate the lower end as the value when applying for rego then paying stamp duty on that value..

One bonus in my eye.
