The metal like contact in one of my wipers is cracked in half and the spring doesn't push enough. Just wondering if you can replace these? |

No thats not the bit I have. I have one that is basically a little bit of rectangular metal that is spring loaded encased in a metal sleeve. Single speed wipers only have two of them whilst the 2 speed has three. You cant remove them as a whole unit but i thought you could just get the spring and contact metal. |

What you are after is called a `brush'. Sounds like for the later type round motor. I'm not sure if these were an Oz motor, or UK made. |

A brush sounds right. Like the brushes you used to buy for the old Scaletrix car sets. I have a round wiper motor. |

If you can't find the originals, you can get a large(er) size and file them down. Very easy to do, it's like filing black chalk. A pair from a supercrap drill can be used, then solder the old copper tail back onto the new one if needed. That's of you don't find any to suit. |

You can buy brush sets from some of the tool service agents, maybe vacuum cleaner repairers might be worth a phone call. Or try an auto sparky place if you haven't already. |

I got some NOS from a guy selling Lucas parts on the UK eBay. Can't put my finger on the site at the moment - but search Lucas on the www.ebay.co.uk and you may turn him up. If you don't I'll keep looking. |
