I have a set of contessa's that have an uncommon centre. My grandfather offered to machine a set out of aluminium for a chrissie present. Ive drawn up a design but i am finding it near impossible to source 4 badge/decal thingos for the centres. I am after preferably 45mm or 50mm badges with something mini related or ROH etc since they are ROH mags. We've contacted ROH hq... they can only supply badges already on a cap which defeats the purpose. Ive called all the wheel places i can think of in the ACT and still no help. The closest so far was some performance superlight decals but they were more like 70mm... way too big. If anyone knows where i could get some between 45mm and 50mm (prefer 45mm) decals it would be a great help. thanks |

Hi Chris, if you are coming along the Club Meeting on Wednesday, look out for Rob W with the old daily runner "850" and the brilliant Acacia beast nearly finished. Rob is looking at Plastic piping and caps meant for plumbing and fencing....basically, he has the same problem as you....you two should get your heads together!! Hmmmm, Grandad is a machinist? I would be asking for Honda Disks for Xmas!! ![]() |

Slight thread hijack - but on the same topic. My beast has the original LS mags on it, but a few of the Leyland badges on the wheel itself are going south - anyone know if these are easy to replace/repair? |

If you are only after decals why not have them made at a sticker shop. Don't know about up there but we have many of these places in Melb. |

Hey, i would say you have the factory contessas (skinny ones where the bubbles sit out a bit further than normal). the centre caps for these are extremely hard to find (nermil has them on his LS). i am putting them on my car (i was lucky to find mine, but thye need re chroming) i am getting leyland aluminium stickers made up to put on them, do you want me to make some extra? (nermil keep yours or get them repaired, hard to find the centre caps ![]() |

No, these contessas have the normal offset, not LS and you need flares etc. What will the stickers look like exactly? also what diameter? i may be interested in a few (leyland would suit my leyland mini s). cheers |

There were two types of factory contessas, those before 1.1.1977, and those after, not all are like LS as some dont have the bubbles that fill out the rim (the bubbles that fill out the rim are post 77) the early ones were the optional ones that could have been fitted to your standard clubby as an option and took into account the lack of spacered drum. The stickers being made for mine will be 3.5cm in diameter and will have the black leyland logo on the aluminium. not a prob if you arre interested, just let me know. |

35mm will be too small. 45mm is the minimum size i am after, so no thanks. Ill get onto a local printer/sign writer place and see what they can do. With the contessas' from what i know the inset ones (bubbles almost flush with rim) were only made in the day. I have two sets of the deeper offset type, one being quiet old and the other containg one odd brand spanking new mag ![]() cheers |

Yep thats right, there have always been contessas, but the bubbles that fill the guard are rare, as are the other type that arent as deep dish as non factory contessas. |
