Can a mini still legally be registered as a 4 seater with a sub in the middle of the back seat (between the two)??

I can't see why not either. Especially if I only install an 8 or 10inch sub. I decided to ask anyway. Someone might have reasons not to.

yeah. I've done my research, but there is no information regarding the seating capacity.

Ive got a 15" sub in the middle of my back seat......i have it registered as a two seater car as i didnt want to harm the sub with people sitting on it, i cant see why it wouldnt be legal to use it as a 4 seater, especially if its only an 8 or 10" its more if you dont want your sub gettin hurt, shouldnt be a legal issue....correct me if im wrong.
(i got pics but my webiste is screwin up at the moment, sorry)[/img]

Check VSB5.
(I think that is the regulation for seating).

It will outline MINIMUM measurements for seating requirements.

You could always register it as a two seater - remove rear seatbelts and effectively make the back seat 'unusable'.

That works.

But yeah, I don't think you'd get the required distance with a subwoofer between the two = illegal.

Somehow years ago my mini was registered as a 5 seater - even with 4 seatbelts, and that's how it got re-registered as well - dunno how that happened again - I think we took in an old rego cert or somthing and they copied the details.

registering as a 2 seater would be easy but how easy would it be to under register as a 2 seater.

Regency wanted me to do it for my roll cage. BUT I would ahve to go permanent without a rear seat. I said no way! Took out my roll cage and got my roadworthy, cage is still in the shed.

Regency said no. I dunno about interstate though. It's suddenly then illegal to have rear seats when it's a 2 seater. Eitherway you go, your stuffed.
