I shall keep this quick:

Will it fit my 60s mini? It's been suggested that the firewall is different and the unit
will not fit. I'd have thought it too much effort for BL to change it? :?

Which one , the cantilever mounted one with the booster and master cylinder as one unit ? I believe they can be made fit but don't know how much trouble it is . SOmeone was selling the cantilever mechanism in the for sale section a while ago .

Yes they can fit.
just need to be modified where the bonnet hinge comes down.
