Caster arms (bar from lower control arm to front of subframe ?) are often bent on mini's , no real problem if it's only a little bend but if you really want to replace it you might as well go for an adjustable one through any of the mini specialists .

Have you figured out what suspension your mini has yet ? It's likely to be the knuckle worn or the nylon cup that it fits into if it's dry and most likely as well if it's hydro suspension but I haven't had enough to do with hydro and it's other habits to say for sure ....

Joe , you need to get someone to have a look at it that knows what they are looking at , you can't have a mixture of both types , it can only be one type or the other . Put a photo of the front and rear wheel arch areas with the wheels removed and we can advise you better .

Ian,
You may find this hard to believe but years ago I saw a Minimatic with front rubber cones, and a full hydro rear, the lines were capped at the firewall.
What were they thinking...

I've heard of sealing each side of the front or rear and putting pressure in them to work as an independent corner but they ride very hard like that and fail fairly quickly . I've also seen one where the two rear hydro units were plumbed together and the body roll was horrifying when you took a corner at speed as the outside wheel lifted and the inside tried to push the wheel down . Both of these modifications are very unlikely to have been performed or maintained by a specialised mini repairer like this mini has supposedly been to . We really do need to see some pics of the suspension as it may be possible , it's highly dodgy and I'd say unsafe to have it setup like that .

yeah i know this is dodgy but the car has had three owner i know of the first did all these mods and i dont think took it to the specialists but the second owner who i bought the car from did so yeah, the first owner is really dodgy i can tell by the paint work, interior and wiring. i got a shock today as i check to see why my headlights keep dieing out on every bump i realised that the guy has wires running everywhere and manged to tangle them all and instead of using clips hes juz taped them together

In my opinion theres been a lot of dodgy work done to that car, i've seen it in the flesh, but people still pay good money for dodgy work  As long as its shiny & blingy they'll happily hand over their hard earn folding stuff.
