Might wanna investigate the laws on that... 74 probably requires headrests - hence all 73/74 onwards have headrests in the seats.

Sure, lowbacks look ultra cool, but you may get busted for it if the policeman wants to be formal about it.

they will fit straight in, but.....

technically for a 1974 Clubman you need headrests (ADR law) and 850 seats certainly don't have them.

is it real strict?

may not pass rego inspection if it doesn't comply with ADR laws.

strict enough?

What are the 850 seats , you might be able to swap them with someone for good clubman seats ?

The clubman seats also have a clip to hold them to the rails bolted into the rear floor. Stops them tipping forwards in the event of a sudden stop/accident.

850 seats are rarer - should be able to swap for clubbie seats in even better condition.

It's only the real late Clubman seats that are different. Even then, they still have the holes with captive nuts in them to mount the old style seats! 8)
