i know some poeple have done it and sat it on the themo housing but its a wonder if it will make a difference in realibilty and performance,

I will be using one on my next Mini.

I reckon they are a top idea. The Ferrari Maranello race cars use them, and those boys aren't often wrong. Or slow.

Keith Calver seems to think the are worth 4hp on a small bore motor, and 2hp on a 1275. I like the option of a pump that runs at a constant speed, and you can run it after you've shut the engine down.
