My brain has turned to mush.

I have been doing lots of work on both cars over the last couple of days, so my ability to sort this out has left me in a haze of brake dust and oil fumes.

I cannot see how the brake pedal engages the mechanical brake switch. I must have one of them set up incorrectly.

Anybody have a desription or picture that can assist?

Isn't the brake light switch hydraulic?

It's a normally closed switch, the pedal holds it open circuit so lights OFF.

Where does the pedal engage the switch. I can see no way for the pedal to contact the switch when the pedal is not engaged.

In other words I cant see for looking

If it's the Moke, most likely the bracket is bent on the pedal box. Bend the bracket down until the switch is depressede when the brake pedal is at rest.

Oh, and don't bother with a genuine one. A cheap universal one from super-crap etc fits fine.

You want pedal to clear the switch before you hit brake pressure. Gives the guy up your clacker a little more braking time....
