Hi - starting to think about the painting of the 1275 Cooper S motor when all the work is done. Have sourced the main engine colour (well, near enough to it), now which colour (green, black or unpainted) for the following?
Starter motor (currently green - partly  )
Clutch slave cylinder (newish, currently unpainted)
Water pump (new)
Thermostat housing (new)
Heater tap (new).
Anything else I should consider?

Cheers
Peter. :)

Generally I think they were all the same colour, except maybe the heater tap (seems to vary)

When reading up on this some years ago (once again using Parnell the Omnipotent ) he was quite picky on the manner of the engine painting. They were as Doc said painted as one unit ready to be bolted in less the ancillaries, pulley, manifolds and dizzy . What was left on was the thermostat housing, generator (not alternator), waterpump, starter motor and apparent in some old photos was the heater tap as well. Others it shows the heater tap clean but he doesn't harp on about this.
