 Post subject: Stopping SU pump leak

I've got a small electric SU fuel pump mounted in the usual spot on the rear subframe. The brand I think is "Motrod" or something like that. The body is shorter than the usual points type pumps and the body is sealed so I'm assuming its not a points type unit but a more modern solid actuated SU pump.

Anyway the inlet and outlet part seems identical to the standard SU part with two rotating nozzles and is held on by 6 screws on its circumference. well one of the nozles is leaking petrol (I'm assuming perishing gasket). The problem is that the hozzle head can be removed but there's no way to access the internals or replace gaskets - so I'm assuming the whole head has to be replaced as a single unit. Does this seem right and are the heads still available?

(again by "head" I mean the top section of the fuel pump where the inlet and outlet nozzles are located).

Sounds like it isn't an SU fuel pump as SU is a brand.

Post up some pics, that may help.

If it was an SU pump (which it isn't????) then one mystery leak I had was where the screw goes into the body, holding the large spring washer on that secures the inlet and outlet nozzles in place.

It was actually leaking out past this screw, a bit of petrol resistant thread tape later, no more leak!!

Ok sorry should have said "diaphragm type" pump as opposed to the fully solid state units. The problem is that the whole top nozzle assembly has no retaining screws or any visible way to dissassemble.
