There was an article on it in todays (27/03) Melbourne Herald Sun. The purchaser is the same guy who bought the last production Monaro at a charity auction a few months back. |

What is really crazy is that this car has been built up from a rego number and is not the genuine article at all. Read the comment on the Mini Cooper Register Forum. (hope it works!) http://mcr.mywowbb.com/forum30/960.html Al |

It was raced by John Taylor and it was the '76 SA championship winner not '71. It has been owned for the last 10 years by Gary Rainsford. The Rainsford's are well known in the auto industry, not only in SA. I was lucky to have the opportunity to see some of Gary's private collection of which this is one. My two boys 9 & 7 thought it was fantastic. Went and climbed in the Mini and ignored the other vehicles in his garage. Lotus Super 7, Bentley #67, Austin Healy, Fraser Nash, Colin Bond's ARC winning ford escort plus more. It was the kind of garage you dream about. |
