G'day Folks

I just need some help with a HS6 I picked up.

The plan is to use it in a single carby configuration on a Minispares style manifold. Excuse my ignorance but why so many pipes on to of the float bowl lid? One I assume in the inlet and onother maybe an overflow but the 3rd pipe that runs back into the carby body (near the bottom arrow on the pic) has me scratching my head. What do I need to do to the Carby to set it up for use as a single??

Many thanks in advance for your help!

It`s a breathing balance pipe, it`s meant to help stop the carb running too rich as the air filter starts to get blocked/choked up with crud
