yeah, my highbeam works on both lights but only highbeam on the right... i pulled the light out and had a look at the filament, it looks ok, i think... is there any way to test if the filament is dead? or could it be anything else? thanks |

Hook it up to your battery ![]() If you are really flushed with funds, buy a cheap multimeter from Dick or JB's ![]() |

One of the two filaments will be broken on the bulb if it is bung, but best test it. Make sure you know which is the negative terminal when you test it or you will get funny readings. Or alternately put twelve volts quickly accross each of the terminal to see if it lights up on bot L/B and H/B. It might be that if the filament is fine (after you test it with 12 volts or a multimeter) that the common point in the middle of the bonnet catch panel needs looking at. The L/B and the H/B and the black negative all junction up under here. Check that there is 12 volts at the filament socket at the back of the light on the blue/white and blue/red wires alternatley as you switch from low to high. It's not the negative wire as this supplies both low and high, so if low is stuffed but high works, it's not the black wire. |
