Post subject:  Boot Acuracy
how accurate are the Minifinity Boot Board designs ? is it better to buy slightly bigger than their estimates or buy the same and trim it ? and before anyone says it i know the petrol tank cover will need to be wider because i have a rover..

how bout a link to what you're referring to?

if it was me, i would buy the exact size, the less cutting the better.

just by a sheet of mdf, mitr 10 have them and bunnings etc, u can get ones that would be about the right size, then just make a template and cut it out.

then cove rit with vinyl or car carpet.

always skip mkaing a template.. but thats a great idea.. i was at bunnings earlier today.. and yeah.. the ones they had were massive... like 4M long and 1-2m wide.. for $24 a sheet (16mm) but it was way bigger than i needed ill get back to it when i get back from melbourne

Here's a pic of my one that I bought off ebay, the main problem I had was fitting the fuel tank piece in between the boot lid edge and the fuel tank seam. Another Rover I've seen has had the seam of the fuel tank folded down slightly in that section making for a perfect fit. 8)

Apart from the cosmetic effect does it help with noise reduction? and how much space doe it take up in an already small space?

No noise reduction benefit that I can tell and does eat into available space, only helps to keep the boot tidy and keep crap off your battery.

As BIAM said, easy to fit. :wink: :lol:
