I rebuilt my alternator with a new diode pack, contacts, voltage regulator etc

It bench tested OK

Now that it is installed I am getting 13.95v @idle.This seems a little high

What should I be expecting?

Mine gives roughly the same voltage at the same time. Always has over the 12 years I have owned it and the battery and the alternator are still the same.

14v seems normal. It's the current that changes with revs.
:D

Thats fine - max battery voltage fully charged is 13.8 so you need to be over that to get the battery up to that. Not too much over or you boil the battery - besides you will have line loses anyway.

Unlike a generator, an alternator actually charges pretty well at idle.
Sounds normal to me. If you rev it, it probably won't go past 14.3V anyway, which is normal.
