| Post subject: | WANTED mINI TYRES |
I am after some rubber for my 13 X 7 rims, I have been told that 175 tyres are not the correct tyre to fit to these rims, and I need 195 tyres to fit properly, if this is correct, does anyone know where I can buy some rubber to fit these rims. and how much I am looking at.

175/50R13 is fine. 99% of people run them as there is only one 195 13" on the Market - Dunlop SP3000 and it's $$$ and might not even be around for much longer. Sime make the cheap version at under $100 no a bad tire for the money.. This is them here on our moke: 
If you want to go for grip and $$$ them yoko do the A048R These are mine here:

about the only place around Melbourne that you'll get the 195x13's is Stuckys in Sydney Road |

don't you mean they are to small I wouldn't put less than 195's on as they are leaving the wheels exposed to damage |

I grab the yellow pages knowing what tire i want and ring around until i find the cheapest price then get them to order them in 
Alot of them will say something wrong like, you can't get them or this is the only tire, but stick to your guns and make sure you get what you want
If you want something that will wear well, you can't go past the Sime Astar Prima 175/50R13 Should be around $100ea You can no longer get an A539 in 13" You can get the A048R Yokohama for $220ea but they wont last long.. 175 sounds wide Harley? maybe you mean thin? - They are DESIGNED to go on 6" rims but they are absolutely fine on 7" wide rims. |

I know it's not the tires fault, but just in case something happened and you miss judge a park the rim's are much more protected with the 195's or 205's this saves you having to get replacement rims for a small incident |

To keep the correct rolling radius (and therefore your speedo accurate) you should fit 195/40/13's if you don't want 175/50/13's. Bridgestone have stopped making Potenza's in 175/13. I contacted both head offices in UK/Aus. Stuckeys quoted me $215 fitted and balanced for the Dunlop SP's 195/40. As far as I understood, these are specifically imported by Stuckey's. The Dunlop .au web site doesn't show them. |

The catch there is it's $800odd for a set of - not too crash hot - tires instead $400odd..if you go a cheaper brand And for $220 a tire you can get the much better A048R...if you want to run 175's.. |

Thanks to all the folk that have posted replies, it just shows you the value of such a site for Mini enthusiests???, all you get is good and informative replies and not that Bull crap you get when idiots are in the same chat rooms, so once again thanks gents for your time and advice.
