looking at buying this on ebay.... but what is that hole on the inlet manifold....???? cheers.. EDIT>> just found this on ebay too....(i know different carb... but just looking at manifold) and it has the hole plugged? ? |

Big one is for the brake booster vacuum connection. Little one for vac advance. |

No probs blocking it off. The set-up is the same as on an MG Metro. Mokesta has it. You just block the big port. It is supposed to have a big banjo fitting. The second photo shows 1/2 of that fitting. If you use this set-up you really should use the black insulating spacer shown in the second pic. Stops the carb getting too hot and making hot starting a ning nong. And, there's supposed to be a plate in there too. It shields the float bowl from the exhaust and supports the throttle cable. [edit: the carb isnt the HIF44 that the MG metros had so I dunno if the heat shield and cable plate is really supposed to be there.] M |

i have a spacer to be fitted onto it if i end up winning it..... is it just a threaded bolt that i "plug" the hole with..... EDIT>> cheers moke! |

tap and a brass plug would have it plugged in about 5 mins... unless its already threaded, then just a brass plug... 2 mins ![]() |
