End of last year had to get the gearbox on the race mini rebuilt... and thought I'll use those captive nut engine mounts to make it easy...
It was at least 7 years since I last changed an engine but remember lining up the engine mounts could be a pain.... so after several hours trying on the weekend failed to get the mounts lined up.... long story short - took most every night after work with clamps and all sorts until finally got the mounts bolted in...
Then earlier this year saw a thread here on AusMini talking about changing engines and that some engine mounts are thicker than standard making it difficult.
Had to pull the engine again to fix faulty gearbox seals and so in last parcel from MiniSpares included some genuine Rover engine mounts.... and yep today had mounts lined up and bolted in 10-15 minutes flat (even without captive nuts)

.
All thanks to the great knowledge passed on by other AusMini members..... (and yep the captive nut mounts are visibly thicker than the Rover mounts !)
Thanks All !!
Ken.
