I just bought a 1965 mini deluxe and it came with the chrome stripping to go along the wheel arches and below the doors. How to you put it on glue, or heat. How do you contour it to the shape.

Yeah , get it hot and soft , either leave it out on a really hot day or the bucket of hot water . When you look at it in the roll , you want to put it on the reverse to the curve , start at the front (or back , doesn't matter) and bend the strip against the curve it was in the roll over the guard edge then when you come to the tighter curve where the guard curve meets the 1/4 panels the strip will go on with the curve the way it was in the roll . Otherwise it kinks when you try and curve it that tight . Normally they are pop rivetted on at each end and some times either side of the guards , it's up to you whether you want to try and glue it on .

I laid the buggers out on the concrete in the sun for 5 days with weights holding them down to keep them straight. This meant that when I went to put them on they were as stright as and I didn't have to fight the curve from the roll.

Watch your work area as they scratch easily, and they look awful if they do.

When I did mine I also used a hair dryer on hot. That worked really well when I couldn't quite get the ends into a bucket of water and didn't want to pull some of my progress off.

Check out the Technical resources on minimania's web site. There is a very good guide on how to install these
