I'll try again with this question. There must be someone out there who has had the same problem. I have just about completed a resto on a 1970 MK 2 S but would very much like to install an original under bonnet insulation/sound deadener. I know there are after market ones but I want to try and make or buy the original thing which is either rockwool or fibre glass insulation stuff bonded together into a one piece shape that fits under the bonnet. Any help would be appreciated. |

I have never had a Cooper S or a mini for that matter that had under bonnet sound proofing material as standard from the factory. I vaguely remember seeing it as an after market product way back then. All I ever saw was the fibre backed vinyl strip across the firewall. Its just my experience though. |

Same here only ever seen it as after market stuff for early Minis. I've seen some of the kits about saying "like original" firewall material ![]() |
